Forms and information required for Initial British Registration

* If Individual/Joint Owners do not reside in Jersey and Bodies Corporate do not have a Principal Place of Business in the Island a Representative Person will need to be nominated.  A sample list is available from the Registrar if the owner does not already know a local contact.

** If there is more than one owner of ship (being Joint/Bodies Corporate) residing/having a principal place of business in Jersey, one of them must be appointed as the Managing Owner.

Other transactions

 

JR08 - Appointment/Notification of Change of Representative Person - Change in appointment of the Representative Person.
JR11 - Change of Vessel Name - Once you are the registered owner of a vessel you may request to change the name of the vessel.
JR18 - Change of address/principal place of business.
JR14 - Closure - A vessel may be closed on the British Registry (Port of Jersey) at the request of the registered owner(s).
JR12 - Transfer of Port - Once you are the registered owner of a vessel you may request to transfer the port of registry.
JR13 - Application for Duplicate Certificate of Registry - If you are the owner, joint owner or authorised officer you may apply for a duplicate Certificate of British Registry, but only if all attempts to locate the 'Blue Book' have failed.
JR16 - Renewal of Registry - Applicable every 10 years upon the anniversary of the owner's registration.  If an application is not made to renew the registration of a ship within the 3 months following the period of validity of its registration, the ship ceases to be registered.  Once a ship has ceased to be registered and the owner wishes it to be reinstated, it will be subject to full registration procedures, including name approval, and the full registration fee will be charged.
